Leaning on the Everlasting Arms

Whew! These past two weeks have been crazyyyy. But so much fun. Here are just a few things that have happened recently:
-I shared my testimony at dinner last Monday (huge thank you to Susan Bolden)
-went to Monterey & Pebble Beach with Alison, Kaitlyn B, Zac and Christin—beautiful. Amazing lunch in Carmel
-I mastered making swirled ice cream cones-a boys room asked my room on a creative date. We went out to eat on the Warf (a pier) and then played minigolf—lots of fun
-made a quote book & literally rolled on the floor laughing with Lara and Emily Dillard until I felt nauseous
-somehow got chosen to lead my room’s Bible study…still not sure about that one
- set up the Pan as a coffee house and invited coworkers. 3 people came to Christ!
-Got invited by a lovely coworker to go see Jason Aldean in July
-Made a couch out of an extra mattress for our room
-Read by the pool
-Got my first paycheck
-Learned about a new genre of music called dubstep
-Taught a coworker how to use the word “yall”
-Barn Partyyy!
-Took the train to San Francisco with 7 amazing ladies & Nick!
One major prayer request. Mike, our project director, had to fly home today to have emergency eye surgery and won’t be back. The surgery went well, but he has a long road to recovery ahead of him.  Also, please be in prayer for the four students who have been raised up to lead the project after the staff leave. They are AMAZING people and I am so excited to see what God does through them as we head into the 2nd half of the summer. We could not have better leaders.
As for praises, I have been really encouraged by the way we have continued to stay unified even after the “honeymoon” period has passed. God is definitely here and at work in Santa Cruz. He is proving faithful and bringing in everyone’s support. Also, I have really enjoyed getting to know the girls here and growing together with them. It's so refreshing to be able to share in each other's good and bad times. The summer is really going by too fast now. The staff are leaving Tuesday morning. I'm not looking forward to saying goodbye. But right now, I'm pumped about working 4th of July weekend!! And going to do laundry! Let's go! :)

I hope everyone had a fantastic June! Thanks for praying & keeping up with me! May God bless you in July!

-Ash
