The Bible tells us that we are all created to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The truth is that God desires an intimate relationship with each of us. He is not satisfied with us just knowing that He is Savior. He wants us to experience Him every day, every hour, every second. Would you use that word to describe your relationship with God? Intimate. We constantly seek intimacy with people here in this world. But have you ever truly desired to be intimate with the Lord, your Creator? Have you ever felt His hand in yours? Have you pressed into His chest when your pain was overwhelming? Have you looked into the depths of His eyes full of forgiveness when you were consumed in shame?
Today I am aligning my prayer for the body of Christ with Jesus's prayer in John 1--that we would be one with the Father. How does this actually look in everyday life? I am excited to find out.
