Pumped

There are only 27 days left until I fly out to California! I am so excited. Focusing on exams is not easy. There are check lists to make, travel details to arrange, so many lists and things to do. I would like to spend time with several of my friends at home before I have to leave, and I am going to paint something for both my sister & best friend for graduation.

I miss painting.
In fact, I miss home.
I miss the open fields and winding roads.
I miss the starry sky.
I miss the sun shining in my bedroom window in the mornings.
I miss mom's cooking & dad's music.
I miss the quiet.
I miss the pine trees.
I miss arguing with my sister. :)
I miss my church family.
I miss my piano & my poodle.
I miss seeing the people I grew up with.
And sometimes I even miss being all alone for hours at the time.

Yes, after two semesters in a busy city, I am homesick. I love it though--being homesick. I love being here, but even more I like the way I have developed an appreciation for home and my family.

People have always said that college students become more appreciative of their families after a short time away. I guess I am experiencing that for myself even though I thought I couldn't appreciate them anymore than I did. 

Whatever it is, I cannot wait to go home. And I am already excited for my trip home from California in August.
